One of Merry-Lee’s great students tested this for us and she says “Oh I love this set up! When I saw Merry-Lee posted about it I knew exactly what I want it for. I tested it with with torch fire enamel and I found that the screen may be a bit of a heat sink for that purpose so I cut a hole just enough for the piece or trivet to sit on it and it works perfectly. I love that I no longer having to be working around the tripod legs with the old set up I had and what a pure joy is that! The biggest win for me with this set up is it is perfect for my soldering wire work for the Merry-Lee's Online Classroom Presents Amy Lyons Soldered Plique-à-Jour that if I prepared correctly I can have almost (if not all) every single joints soldered in just one go. Here's the holes I carved out but so far I like the middle size hole the best. I haven't try fusing yet but will report when I do.
